AFFI Conference 2012

Publié le May 14, 2012, Mis à jour le June 25, 2014

The 29th International Conference of the French Finance Association will take place at EM Strasbourg Business School between 14th and 16th May 2012. On this occasion, the School will host two combined events: a doctoral seminar on 14th May followed by the annual international conference of the French Finance Association on 15th and 16th May. The conference is co-organised by AFFI and LaRGE, the Finance and Financial Economics research team at the University of Strasbourg.

Whilst covering all areas of finance, the papers presented at the conference will largely reflect topical financial issues including bank and financial market regulation, CSR as well as rationality in financial behaviour. On 14th and 15th May, the participants will mainly present their papers in parallel sessions. Two plenary sessions will host presentations by renowned finance experts:
  • Tuesday 15th May: «Investors Care about Risk, but Can't Cope with Volatility»
Pr. Martin Weber, University of Mannheim
  • Wednesday 16th May: 'More than Connectedness - Heterogeneity of CEO Social Networks and Firm Value'
Pr. Iftekhar Hasan, Fordham University and Bank of Finland
With more than 150 participants, 40% of whom coming from foreign education and research institutions, the conference will fully entrench the financial research undertaken in France in the European and international research landscape.

The event will give the spotlight to the various research endeavours of EM Strasbourg Business School, which organises research colloquiums throughout the year (E.g. Management and Religion, a conference held at the start of the academic year 2011, Etats Généraux du Management in October 2012).
