Géraldine Broye, executive director for the management of the teaching staff and research at EM Strasbourg.

Géraldine Broye, university professor at EM Strasbourg Business School, was elected executive director for the management of the teaching staff and research on October 2, 2018 by the teaching community of the management school.

Experience


Géraldine Broye started her career as an associate professor at the IAE Strasbourg. After passing the aggregation in 2009, she became a university professor at EM Strasbourg, within the LaRGE laboratory. Specialized in corporate governance and finance, she mainly conducts research on the audit’s role and on the executive compensation. She was an executive director in charge of the Master’s degree program from 2010 to 2015. She has until now been managing the finance-accounting-control department. She is also at the head of the financial and operational audit Master’s degree program and manages the MAE Master’s degree.




Role and goals as an executive director of the teaching staff and research


Newly-elected Géraldine Broye talks about her new position at EM Strasbourg Business School and shares her objectives for the next three years. She explains in detail the two main missions she has as an executive director of the management of the teaching staff and research:

“The main mission consists in managing the teaching staff, which includes being in charge of the careers follow-up and management, reflecting on the workload and other missions, as well as the recruitment and training of the newcomers. My work will be done in close collaboration with the University of Strasbourg when it comes to the teaching staff management. My missions will also consist in monitoring and guiding the multiple accreditation processes on the “Faculty” aspect. My goal is to transform these processes requirements (for the EQUIS or AACSB) into a dynamic adapted to the teaching staff.

The second main responsibility I will have is about the research management, related to the school research policy and the support provided to researchers. This part will be handled in collaboration with Maxime Merli, university professor and member of the LaRGE laboratory, who will be in charge of the research policy and knowledge transfer.”


Géraldine Broye concludes: “My goal is to set up a real teamwork with the departments’ managers, around clear and structured objectives.” She adds: “Building bridges with the whole teaching staff is essential to me in order to face the EM challenges together, like the accreditations.” She succeeds to Hélène Rainelli-Weiss who held the position for 3 years and now pursues her career at the IGRIAE in Rennes.


The teaching staff at EM Strasbourg


The teaching staff at EM Strasbourg is managed by the executive director Géraldine Broye, and supervised by four departments managers (finance-accounting-control/marketing-information systems/HR-management/Strategy-SCM). The community gathers teachers and teachers-researchers working for the school. Thanks to their expertise in multiple management areas and to their research works (such as publications in academic journals, books writing, attendance to international seminars), the teachers-researchers, most of them being members of the two school laboratories (HuManiS and LaRGE), give their scientific input to the teachers and truly offer an added value to students in basic training as well as to those in continuous training.
