Our Spring Semester has seen a variety of activities geared towards our international students. Adding to their academic programme, these activities complement their intercultural experience and enhance their study abroad period.
During our second semester, beginning of January to the end of April, we hosted 314 exchange students, of whom 167 new arrivals had the opportunity to try the traditional epiphany cake called “Galette des rois” (King’s cake) during the welcome cocktail. Other cultural events and visits were organized throughout the semester such as a celebration of the Chinese New Year, a visit of the chocolate museum, a wine tasting session in the old hospital wine cellar and a “crêpes” – party where students could try savoury and sweet pancakes.
In January, in the frame of the SCRIBE 21 intensive sessions, students from the Master’s in International and European Business participated in a simulation game at the European Parliament during the parliament session week where they debated on the topic of labelling of organic goods in Europe and met real MEPs (Members of the European Parliament) who had worked on that topic.
In March, we kicked off our 3rd edition of the World Friendship Cup where international and local students competed in a fierce soccer game. They were supported by two cheering teams from EM Strasbourg who created an enthusiastic atmosphere thanks to their drums and dances.
In April, 1046 students from bachelor’s and master’s programs received their diploma during the graduation ceremony which was followed by a Gala with the attractive theme: “La Dolce Vita”.
