The new logo for EM Strasbourg Business School made its debut on 1st October, when it was first displayed on social networks and on the school's web site. The start of the 2012 academic year thus marks the roll-out of a new visual identity which was revamped in collaboration with Campus Communication consultancy. Born out of the merger between IECS and the Strasbourg IAE (Institute of Enterprise Administration) in 2007, the school is now reasserting its standing through its name and its local roots by means of the EM Strasbourg brand. The added slogan « Be distinctive » is a reminder of the school's unique DNA as an integral component of the University of Strasbourg. The watchword « Be distinctive » also serves to beckon applicants to EM Strasbourg Business School to know, accept and build on their differences.
The selected design reflects the school's willingness to showcase its difference. There are some simple keys to deciphering the new logo. The central pattern is reminiscent of the shape of the main entrance to the PEGE building (Pôle européen de gestion et d'économie), which houses EM Strasbourg Business School and which is emotionally meaningful to both students and staff. As in an optical brain teaser, the letters E and M discreetly intertwine with the central pattern to challenge the viewer. The background is made up of a non-geometric, diverse and spreading shape that can be construed as some blooming in progress. The vivid orange-red hues recall the School's building, which is located at the heart of the Strasbourg campus. The whole logo conveys the promise that the individuals who train at EM Strasbourg Business School will be able to fully express their unique specificities within the School and in the professonial and personal life awaiting them.
